WBCSD Rio+20 Conference

The Rio+20 Conference -- taking place from June 20 to 22 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil -- brings world leaders together with thousands of participants in various industries and sectors to discuss sustainable development. Specific topics of focus include the reduction of poverty, promotion of social equality, and environmental protection. Since 1992, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) has aimed to bring businesses together with a priority to “create a sustainable future for business, society, and environment”. The council, based in Geneva, Switzerland, consists of 200 member companies across a variety of business sectors and continues to evolve, bringing about new ideas and concepts to change the world for the better.
