The 2013 Kentucky World Language Association’s Fall Conference is taking place from September 19th to 21st in Lexington, Kentucky. Entitled “Proficiency to the Core”, the event aims to give teachers better tools to increase student’s ability to learn foreign languages. Workshops and presentations from experts around the world are combined with networking opportunities as attendees collaborate with their colleagues on a wide range of language-learning solutions.
Users of the event app have access to a complete conference agenda with personal calendar integration and sharing via email, Twitter, and Facebook. Sessions are categorized by day, strand, and language for easy access, while conference updates are available via a Twitter feed. Other event app highlights include session ratings, exhibitor information, a directory of conference presenters with biographies and contact information, a Lexington city guide and contact information for KWLA's executive board.
KWLA is a network of teachers and other individuals who advocate foreign language earning in schools across Kentucky. The organization’s aim is to make policy makers on state and federal levels aware of “the increasing importance of world language education to our global society and economy.”
