The ASCRS/ASOA Conference App showcases a number of events throughout the year, including smaller updates and the annual Symposium & Congress. Highlights of the events include panel discussion, debates, video-case presentations and roundtable discussions to promote participation and engage the audience. The 2015 ASCRS Annual Symposium takes place in San Diego from April 17th to 21st and is “the largest U.S. meeting dedicated exclusively to the needs of the anterior segment specialist”, while the concurrent ASOA Annual Congress is the “leading practice management program for comprehensive ophthalmology and subspecialties.”
Users of the conference app have access to updated agendas for each event with calendar integration and bookmarking, as well as a list of speakers and exhibitors. The mobile event app also showcases a variety of industry news around the year to give attendees and other users access to clinical studies, educational resources, clinical spotlights, news, and more. Other highlights of the app include bookmarking, a notepad, social media integration, and facility floorplans.
The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) is an educational society aiming to “advance the art and science of ophthalmic surgery… [and] the knowledge and skills of ophthalmic surgeons by providing clinical and practice management education and by working with patients, government, and the medical community to promote the delivery and advancement of high-quality eye care.
The American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) aims to “advance the skills and professionalism of ophthalmic practice management” and serves a host of industry professionals such as administrators, managers, physicians and office staff.
